Total Anonymity With HTTP Proxy Servers – Discover How Easy It Really Is

Want a HTTP Proxy? Being anonymous online can sometimes be difficult. You can be anonymous or hide your identity online with a proxy server, but here is where the problems start. This is because there are so many types of proxy servers that it can be confusing for many people. Of all the proxy servers you can use, nothing compares to a http proxy when it comes to protecting yourself on the internet.

HTTP Proxy Servers act as a middle man while you are web surfing and transfer info back to your computer. The proxy server is the machine that does the web surfing. Therefore, the IP used isn’t your computer’s but is actually the proxy server’s IP. If anyone checked your IP while you were surfing, they can only see the proxy server IP and if you are using a http proxy they have no way of knowing that you even changed or have hidden your IP.

When it comes to proxies, elite proxies are the best because nothing offers the kind of anonymity, security and speed. They do this because not only are the IPs they give you 100% anonymous, but IPs coming from a http proxy are cloaked and no-one can tell they are proxy IPs. There is no way to tell you are using a proxy server. There is no use in changing your IP if someone can tell you have done it.

If you are serious about being anonymous online and HTTP Proxies, elite proxies are the only choice. They offer the highest levels of anonymity, speed and IPs being completely cloaked is the reason why elite proxies are the best. Just how can you get a proxy server of your own? There are actually a couple of different ways to get proxies. The first is searching online for proxies that are free and the second method is the opposite and involves paying. Finding free proxies on the internet isn’t hard, but you typically have more troubles using them when compared to paid proxies. Just why free proxies aren’t reliable goes beyond the scope of this article and this is the biggest reason that many people actually go looking for a reliable and paid http proxy.

Your own paid proxy server isn’t expensive. For as little as USD a month you can have a complete proxy server setup all of your own. More and more people are realizing that they have good reason for a private proxy that only they can use. A private proxy is totally secure and 100% anonymous. Paid proxies won’t suddenly stop working like free ones. If you spend or have spent time looking for free proxies, then you probably already realize how frustrating it can be. With private and paid proxies being so cheap, there really is no reason you can’t have your own. You’ll be glad you did.

Setting up your own HTTP Proxy is super easy. Use it for your HTTP Proxies needs or as a simple yet powerful HTTP Proxy Server.

What Is An Anonymous Proxy And Are They Really Anonymous?

An anonymous proxy just sounds so safe and secure, I’ll be completely anonymous using it and safe from censors, snoopers, hackers and identity thieves. Unfortunately that is not quite the case, it’s just a little deceptive and things are not quite what they seem. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all in favour of these proxies and in fact I use them myself but you should be quite clear on what they actually do.

When you use an anonymous proxy, your browsing session goes something like this -

You send request to proxy server, proxy server forwards that request to the web server, web server replies and proxy forwards the answer.

So the main benefit is that the web server never actually sees who is requesting the web page, the request can from the proxy server and that’s all it sees. Now this is fine and it does give you some anonymity on the web but only from the web site you are visiting.

You are still left with many privacy concerns -

1) All your browsing information on your PC – although that is easily cleared by using privacy options on your browser
2) Every web site you visit is logged at your ISP and linked to your PC
3) The proxy server has a complete log of all your browsing
4) If you browse you probably use HTTP which can be intercepted and read by anyone

There’s quite a few more but the main area of concern for me, and the reason why many people are the victims of some form of identity theft is they use free anonymous proxies that are completely unknown to them. These are often set up by hacking groups to harvest personal details (yes yours!) and steal identities. If you want to protect yourself online, never, ever use any sort of anonymous proxy which you know nothing about.

If you want to read about some of my thoughts on using free anonymous proxies and how you can surf without being spied on, try the link below, from there you can also try out a demo of the most secure, sophisticated web browsing product available anywhere.

Can A Proxy Server Really Guarantee Me Privacy On The Internet?

May 6th, 2010 Comments off

So.

A proxy server grants you complete anonymity on the Internet.

Right?

I know a great many people who believe just that, thinking a proxy server affords some level of privacy.

There is, of course, some truth in that though it doesn’t describe the entire picture accurately.

To explain what I mean, we need to take a look at what a proxy server actually is.

A proxy server sits between your computer and the sites that you visit on the web.

It certainly prevents those sites from knowing who you are by masking your geographical location and IP address but that assumes that you have configured the proxy correctly in the first place.

The possible problem, though, is that you know absolutely nothing about the proxy itself –

Who owns it?
Are they collecting identifying data about you?
What are they doing with your data?
Is the person behind the proxy a hacker?
Or maybe an identity thief?

Chances are, you won’t know until its too late.

If you use a proxy then it can see everything you are doing, every request you make, unless it actively purges it’s logs on a regular basis.

Don’t forget that any user names or passwords you enter whilst using a proxy can also be captured and stored.

Worrying.

Isn’t it?

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is whether you trust the administrator of the proxy you are using?

Do you even know who they are?

Regardless of what they may or may not say about themselves on the site they could actually be anyone, from a teenage hacker to an identity thief or any other type of malcontent in-between.

Considering that the administrator of a proxy could be anyone, how secure do you feel now that you know that any browsing you do is in clear text?

Without any kind of encryption everything you do is available in clear text as the preferred protocol of the web – HTTP – was designed for speed and simplicity, not security.

The whole point of using a proxy is to make your surfing more private and more secure.

What you are really getting may be somewhat different though.

Do you think your privacy is being flushed away?
